ITI Courses in India: ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute. ITIs have been established with the aim of providing vocational training to students in India. ITI courses in India impart technical training as well as vocational training to students. The motive of such institutes is to develop a skilled work force in India.

On completion of the training, all the prospective candidates appear for the AITT (All India Trade Test). And successful candidates are given the NTC (National Trade Certificate).

Duration of ITI Courses in India:-

ITI courses’ duration could be anywhere in between 6 months and 2 years. And otherwise, duration depends upon the type and nature of the course.

Eligibility criteria for ITI Courses in India:-

Eligibility criteria vary from one course to another. As mentioned, requirements are few as to academic background i.e., VIII, X and XII passed out (depending upon the course you may choose).

Types of ITI Courses in India:-

There are two main types of ITI courses in India:

  1. Engineering courses/trades – Engineering courses are of course, technical in nature. They involve the concepts of engineering, mathematics, science and technology.
  2. Non-engineering courses/trades – Non-engineering courses, as the name suggests, are not usually non-technical in nature. They focus on soft skills, languages, and other sector skills specifically.

Admission Process for ITI Courses in India:-

  3. Collect a registration form and complete all other requirements for signing up.
  4. Your training (coaching) gets started as per the schedule.
  5. On completion of the training, all the candidates appear for the AITT (All India Trade Test).
  6. You will get qualified as a successful candidate and will be provided with the NTC (National Trade Certificate).
  7. Find a suitable job for yourself.
