Step 1: 10+2 (PCB) – Foundation
- Eligibility: Complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as main subjects.
- Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories).
- Entrance Exam: Appear for NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate).
- Tip: Higher your NEET score, better the chances of getting a government medical college.
Step 2: MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery)
- Outcome: You become a General Doctor after MBBS.
- Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academics + 1 year compulsory internship).
- Eligibility: Must clear NEET-UG with required cutoff.
- Course Content: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, and Clinical rotations in all specialties (including Ophthalmology basics).
Step 3: Postgraduate Specialization in Ophthalmology
