A student who takes up Biology as one of the main subjects in 12^th with Physics and Chemistry is eligible to sit for the entrance exam for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) & Eye Specialist Doctor. Thereby, the option for appearing in a post-graduation degree opens.

Once the MBBS gets completed, a candidate can give any one of three examinations to become a specialized in the given field, it is as follows:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD): This is a degree that is equivalent to post-graduation and the tenure is of 3 years post MBBS.
• Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery (DOMS): This is a diploma course which can be done from both Government and Private colleges. The course is completed in two years.
