Sericulture Course: Sericulture is the study of silk farming i.e. rearing of silkworm for silk production. It also includes other activities such as mulberry cultivation and post-cocoon technology which are also essential for silk production. The sericulture is a cottage industry that plays an important role in the rural economy and provides a wide range of employment opportunities to rural women. Currently, India and China are the leading producers of silk.

Master of Science in Sericulture is a two-year postgraduate course in the field of agriculture which deals with raw silk production and provides in-depth knowledge of techniques of rearing of silkworm with various research-based projects. It deals with topics related to genetics, silkworm biotechnology, nutrition, silkworm biochemistry, etc. Experiments and practical are extensively included in this course.
