There are four types of programs in the Textile Engineering course in India:

Diploma degree courses: 3-year duration

  • Diploma in Textile Technology/Textile Engineering
  • Diploma in Fabrication Technology and Erection Engineering

UG degree courses: 4-year duration

  • B.Tech in Textile Engineering

PG degree courses: 2-year duration

  • M.Tech in Textile Technology

Doctoral courses leading to the PhD domain with the duration of 1-2 years after the completion of PG degree

Eligibility for UG courses: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with a least of 50% aggregate marks by a recognized educational board.

For admission in UG degree courses candidates have to appear in JEE Main entrance examinations. Some of the universities conduct their entrance examinations. The admission is based on the marks in the qualifying examination or the score in the entrance examination followed by counselling and personal interview.

Eligibility for PG degree courses: Candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in the same or equivalent field. For admission in PG degree courses, candidates have to appear in GATE examination.
