- NTPC Scholarship Scheme: Scholarships for Engineering Students
This scholarship was started by National Thermal Power Corporation. It is for the top-ranking candidates who belong to Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste and are physically challenged. Through this scholarship, financial aid is provided to the students. Firstly, Engineering students who are in II year are eligible for this scholarship. Secondly, only those students who are pursuing a full-time degree from a government recon institution are eligible.
- LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarships: Scholarships for Engineering Students
These scholarships are funded by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). This target economically backward students, deserving and meritorious students. Students who want to take admission in a private or government university/college in India can apply for this scholarship. This also covers technical and vocational courses in ITI and those which comes under the National Council for Vocational Training. Minimum of 60% marks in class XII and family income not more than INR 1,00,000 per annum is the eligibility criteria for this scholarship. Eligible candidates get an allowance of INR 1,000 per month via NEFT into their saving accounts.
- Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships: Scholarships for Engineering Students
Indian oil corporation limited provides over 300 scholarships to Engineering Students in India. These are provided under their Indian Oil Educational Scholarship scheme. Candidates are selected on the basis of their marks and are given scholarships up to INR 3,000 per month, for four months. Candidates who have secured admission to I year of the current academic year in a government/UGC recognised university/college for a full-time Engineering course are eligible for this scholarship. Under this scholarship, special importance is given to girl students, students from Jammu & Kashmir and North-east states and physically challenged students.
- VIT University Ignite Scholarships: Scholarships for Engineering Students
This scholarship is awarded by the Vellore Institute of Technology to Engineering students. Those students who secure top ranks under the ‘GV School Development Programme’ are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship covers only the tuition fees. Rest expenditures are to be given by the students. The students who have topped the state or central board are given 100% fee relaxation.
- Merit-Cum-Means based Scholarships: Scholarships for Engineering Students
This scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to the students who are financially poor but are meritorious. This scholarship target mainly students from minority communities (Muslims, Jains, Christians and Parsis) who want to pursue advance Technical and Professional courses. Around 20,000 seats are available for this scholarship and these are given to the deserving candidates who qualify every year. The full course fees of the eligible candidates are paid directly to the institute. Students who got admission in recognised university/college after clearing entrance exams are eligible for this scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded by Tata Group, Tata Education and Development Trust. This scholarship is for undergraduate deserving Indian students who want financial aid. This Trust has $25-mn endowment fund with New York-based Cornell University to provide the scholarships. 20 deserving candidates are selected at any time for this scholarship. The selected candidates get access to Cornell’s College of Engineering. The scholarship is provided clearly on merit basis. It is only for Indian students who have attended secondary school.

- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Scholarship: Scholarships for Engineering Students
It is offered by the central government’s Department of Science and Technology. This is for engineering as well as for the students who want to build their career in the field of medicine or science. Students of class XI, XII and Ist year of any undergraduate program in science with the aim for doing scientific research are eligible to apply for this scholarship. An aptitude test is also taken. Shortlisted candidates from the test are called for a personal interview and the final selection is based on the marks scored in tests and interview. Selected candidates are eligible for fellowships right up to their pre-Ph.D. level.
- Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students: Scholarships for Engineering Students
It is awarded by the central government and the Ministry of Human Resources Development to the deserving students who are financially weak. It is given to the students who are doing their graduate and post-graduate degrees. 50% of this scholarship is reserved for female candidates. This scholarship is not for the students pursuing a diploma course in Engineering. Students securing more than 80% in class XII exams conducted by state boards and those pursuing full-time engineering course from recognised university/college are eligible to apply.

This scholarship by the Institution of Engineering and Technology is for deserving candidates of II and III years who are pursuing an undergraduate degree. Introduced in 2013, this scholarship attracted 32,000 undergraduates Engineering students last year. Multiple selection rounds including an online test are performed. Eligible candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in various fields.
- Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Scholarships for Engineering Students
This scholarship was introduced by the government of West Bengal. This scholarship is for the deserving candidates studying for their Higher Secondary, Diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree or M. Phil/doctoral level. Recipients of the Kanyashree (K-2) scheme are also eligible. Total income of the eligible candidates should not be more than INR 2,50,000 per annum.
