Indian Institute of Technology Bombay: The IIT, Bombay, also known as IITB is a government institute for higher engineering studies. Founded in 1958, it has been declared an Institute of National Importance. It is a fully residential University located at Powai (having an area of about 550 acres), in the North-eastern part of the metropolitan city, Mumbai.
Catering to 6,000+ students, IITB has a strong faculty comprising of almost 600 members. Training is offered to teachers/professors on a large scale – up to 10,000 teachers at a time.
