All About B Tech: Bachelor of Technology often referred to as B.Tech is a four-year full-time course that covers different fields of engineering and technology. The course is designed to develop the technical skills of aspirants who wish to work in the core technology and development sector. B Tech comprises both theoretical and practical knowledge. Students are also offered hands-on training to learn how different software and hardware in their respective fields are operated.

Apart from the core engineering sectors, B Tech enables candidates to work in the Information Technology, Data Analysis, and Consultancy and Management sectors.

  • Minimum Qualification required: 10+2 (Science, PCM)
  • Minimum marks required (aggregate): 50% to 70% (varies from college to college)
  • Age limit: Some colleges and entrance may have an age bar for aspirants who seek admission in B Tech courses. Candidates should not be more than 24 years of age counted from the date of examination.

Duration for Bachelor of Technology course: 4 years

B.Tech Admission Process

Admission to B Tech programmes is done based on engineering entrance examinations.

  • Admissions to centrally funded institutes are done based on JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.
  • Admissions to state colleges are done based on other regional/ state entrance exams.
  • Some private institutes also conduct their entrance exams such as VITEE, BITSAT, and SRMJEE etc.
