The state government of Uttar Pradesh is going to introduce a new education policy in schools that will limit study hours to 29 hours. Schools are expected to have 29 hours of instruction each week, with 5 to 5.5 hours of instruction per day from Monday through Friday. Every second Saturday in a month, the classes will be conducted for 2 to 25 hours while two Saturdays will be a holiday. Schools are also set to have a maximum time limit for classes. According to the new education policy, the maximum time limit for classes on general subjects will be between 45 to 35 minutes while classes for major subjects will be conducted for a duration of 50 minutes.

the government has mandated the Education Department to formulate fresh guidelines for school studies in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework of the New Education Policy.

Under the implementation of these new guidelines, regular class sessions are set to last for 35 minutes, while major subject classes, encompassing subjects such as Mathematics, Hindi, English, and Science, will span between 40 to 50 minutes.

In order to reduce the academic burden on students, the new education policy introduces an innovative teaching approach. This approach permits students to experience at least 10 bag-free days per year, during which teaching will adopt an oral and experimental methodology, as indicated in reports.
