Staff Selection Commission: SSC is a recruiting organization governed by Govt. of India which recruits staff for various posts in various Ministries, Departments and in Subordinate Offices. Various members are appointed – Chairman, two members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of examinations.  The headquarters of the Staff Selection Commission is located in New Delhi.

SSC (Staff Selection Commission)

Every year thousands of vacancies are filled by Staff Selection Commission in Government departments. While a government job helps to build a stable career, it is also loaded with responsibilities.

SSC CGL consists of four tiers:-

  • Preliminary
  • Mains Exam
  • Descriptive Paper
  • Computer Proficiency Test

Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL)

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University is required. Final year students can also apply
  • Candidate must be citizen of India
  • It is conducted in 4 levels namely Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4
  • No interviews are to be conducted
  • SSC CGL syllabus increases after every level of exam
  • Online Exam – Tier 1 and Tier 2, Offline Exam – Tier 3, Computer Based Skill Test – Tier 4
  • Age limit is between 20 years to 30 years

Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSL)

  • Candidate must be 12th passed from any recognized Board
  • Age limit is between 18 years to 27 years
  • Candidate must be citizen of India
  • 3 Tiers – Computer based test, descriptive test and skill test

Central Police Organisation (CPO)

  • Applicant must be graduated from a recognised University
  • Age limit is between 18 years to 27 years
  • Candidate must be citizen of India
  • Physical eligibility – Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Junior Engineer (JE)

  • Candidates must possess diploma/degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. Final year students are not eligible.
  • Age limit is between 18 years to 32 years
  • Candidate must be citizen of India

Stenographer

  • 10+2 passed or equivalent examination from recognized board
  • Age limit is between 18 years to 30 years
  • Written exam – SSC Stenographer Skill Test
  • Candidate must be citizen of India
