Rakesh Kapoor Innovation Center is unveiled by BITS, Pilani to advance education in the future.

Rakesh Kapoor, a BITS Pilani graduate from the batch of 1980, donated $1.2 million to build a cutting-edge innovation center. A specialized “Rakesh Kapoor Innovation Centre” with an emphasis on entrepreneurship is launched by BITS Pilani. The inaugural event was held at the BITS Pilani Campus on October 8, 2023.
At the Pilani Campus, the Rakesh Kapoor Incubation Center is envisioned as a crucial center for entrepreneurship and innovation. The Pilani Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Society (PIEDS), a company incubator that was established with a grant from the Department of Science and Technology, will be housed in the Center.

The center will also have a number of specialized labs in the area, including labs for fin-tech, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the internet of things. Additionally, it will have room for administrative offices for experts and faculty members engaged in incubation operations.
