There are no restrictions for students irrespective of their academic background (Science, Arts or Commerce) to join Nursing courses in India after 12th. The different nursing courses after 12th can be awarded degrees like GNM, ANM, and B.Sc. Nursing etc. These courses have been designated to address different requirements for the Nursing profession.

- ANM or Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery: The duration of this course is 2 years. The interested candidates should have passed 10+2 from any stream from a recognized educational board. The age of the candidate should lie between 17 to 35 years.
- B.Sc Nursing course: The duration of this course is 4 years. The interested candidates should have passed 10+2 with PCB as compulsory subjects with a least of 40% marks by a recognized board.
