NPAT Exam Details: NPAT (NMIMS Programs After Twelfth/12th) is the authorized entrance exam conducted by Narsee Mounjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) for admission in various undergraduate courses and integrated degree courses. NPAT is a national-level computer-based examination conducted in 47 cities all over India. NMIMS is a flourishing university offering various courses and programs in various disciplines such as management, technology, agriculture, science, pharmacy and economics.

  • Candidates should have passed their class 12th board examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidates from a recognized school of open learning are also eligible for the exam.
  • Candidates who completed their class 12th in more than one attempt are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must have scored 60% aggregate marks in their class 12th board examination.
  • Candidates exceeding the age of 25 years are not eligible to apply.

NPAT Exam Important Dates

  • Registration starts- mid-December
  • Last date to apply- first week of May
  • Admit card release date- second week of May
  • Exam date- three days in the third week of May
  • Result date- end of May
  • First merit list declaration- end of May
  • Commencement of course- first week of July

Step 5: Check your name in the merit list

Step 6: If your name is not in the first merit list wait for next merit list. If your name is on the list, submit the fees and complete the registration process.

The application fee for the NPAT examination varies according to the programmes and centers a candidate is applying for:-

  • Rs.1800/- for one school program
  • Rs.3000/- for two programs for different schools
  • Rs.4000/- for three programs for three different schools
  • Rs.5000/- for four programs for four different schools

NPAT Exam Pattern

  • It is conducted once a year.
  • It is conducted online at the centre as on the admit card.
  • This exam has two papers. Paper 1 (common for all applicants) and Paper 2 (only for BDes applicants).
  • Duration of the exam is 120 minutes for paper 1 and 90 minutes for paper 2.
  • Both the papers contain three sections. Each section has an internal time limit to complete the section
  • There are 120 questions in paper 1 and 60 questions in paper 2.
  • The paper type is an objective type or multiple choices.
  • No negative marks for wrong answers.
  • It is conducted in 49 cities all over India.
  • NPAT is conducted for 3 days.

Syllabus: NPAT Exam Details

NPAT exam pattern and syllabus vary as engineering and non-engineering courses. The non-engineering exam is divided into paper 1 and paper 2.

PAPER 1: Common for All Applicants
  • QUANTITATIVE AND NUMERICAL ABILITY- (40 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of number system, arithmetic operations, algebra, trigonometry, sets and functions, elementary stats and probabilities.
  • REASONING AND GENERAL INTELLIGENCE- (40 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of data interpretation, numerical reasoning, critical thinking and data sufficiency.
  • PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE- (40 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of error recognition, reading comprehension, vocabulary, applied grammar and sequencing of ideas.
PAPER 2: BDes students
  • VISUALISATION SKILLS- (20 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of the principle of perception and visual design, spatial relationship assessment and knowledge of practical and every day.
  • OBSERVATION AND PROBLEM SOLVING- (20 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of ability to detect concealed properties, paying attention to certain details, using these to solve problems and ability to discern subtle differences.
  • GENERAL AWARENESS AND DESIGN SENSIBILITY- (20 questions) this section contains questions related to topics of general awareness of environmental factors, awareness of social and cultural connections and history of art and sculptures.
PAPER 3: Engineering Courses
  • PHYSICS- (30 questions) the course of this section contains class 11th and 12th topics related to physics.
  • CHEMISTRY- (30 questions) the course of this section contains class 11th and 12th topics related to chemistry.
  • MATHEMATICS- (30 questions) the course of this section contains higher-order mathematics of class 11th and 12th.
  • LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE- (20 questions) it contains topics of critical reasoning, data interpretation and numerical reasoning.
  • LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY- (10 questions) it contains topics of vocabulary, grammar, error recognition and reading comprehension.
