- Radio DJs – Radio disc jockeys work at radio stations that select and play music tracks.
- Club/ Rave DJs – Club/rave disc jockeys are those who mix music and use several methods to create the ambiance for a dance audience. They merge different kinds of music in such a way that the dancers on the floor do not break their speed and flow with the music being played.
- Home DJs – They opt to play their music at home, record mix tapes over the internet via audio broadcasting software, such as shout cast.
