Company Secretary Course in India: Eligibility
An individual will be able to certify as Company Secretary if he or she fulfils one of the following requirements –
Foundation Programme | Executive Programme | Professional Programme |
Students can pursue foundation programme of Company Secretary course in India after completing 12th standard in Arts, Commerce and Science except fine arts. Students have to complete all three programmes. | Students can pursue executive programme of Company Secretary course in India after completing under-graduation course or bachelor in all streams except fine arts. Students have to complete both Executive and Professional programs. | Students can pursue professional programme of Company Secretary course in India programme only after clearing the executive programme of CS course. |
Company Secretary Examination
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organizes exams for Company Secretary course in India. An applicant is declared to be passed when he/she clears the Foundation/Executive/Professional Programme with 40% marks in each paper.
The examination is conducted 2 times in a year – June and December.
- Students can apply till March for the CS Foundation Programme in the same year.
- Students can apply until May for the CS Executive Programme in the same year. If you want to appear for both of the modules in December month you must apply before February.
- Students can apply till August for the CS Professional Programme in the previous year. The applicant can apply for all the modules at the same time. If you want to appear for all of the modules in December month you must apply before February.
Timing Details
The examination of Company Secretary course in India happens twice in a year. In June and December. Students can apply for the single module/subject or all modules/subjects as per their concern.
