Candidates pursuing this profession must have Physics, Chemistry and Bio in the 12th standard and have secured at least 50% in their examination from a recognized board. Then you have to clear an entrance exam called NEET/AIPMT. After passing this entrance exam, students can pursue MBBS programme of 5 ½ years. You can pursue a career as a Psychiatrist after completing an M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) in Psychiatry, after your MBBS.
