CA CPT Exam: Chartered Accountant CPT (Common Proficiency Test) is an entry, National level examination for obtaining certification in Chartered Accountant in India. It is conducted twice in a year by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), held in June and December.

Chartered Accountant (CA) is a professional degree and it offers a huge scope in public and private sector. Even a person can opt for opening their own private practice firm or MNCs after becoming a CA. It is considered to be highest paying profession, as average (starting) salary of a CA is between INR 4 to 6 lakhs.

CA CPT Exam: Important Dates

This year CA CPT exam will be held on 27^th & 29^th June 2021 and 1^st & 3^rd July 2021. Admit card will be released in May 2021. For further information check ICAI official website.

CA CPT Exam: Eligibility Criteria

A candidate aspiring for CPT entrance exam preparation can register for CPT after completing class 10, but will be able to sit for exam only after completing 10+2 level education from a recognised board of secondary education in India.

CPT entrance exam consists of 4 sections, carrying MCQs. The paper in conducted in 2 sessions.

CA CPT Exam Pattern

CPT entrance exam is conducted in 2 sessions, namely Morning and Evening session. Details of the examination are:-

• Conducted in offline mode only.
• The application form is made available in the month of November/December on the website of ICAI.
• Type of questions: Objective type.
• Languages: Hindi or English
• Time duration of exam: 2 hours
• Total marks: 200 marks
• 1 mark given for every correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
• Passing criteria: atleast 50% on an average and 30% in individual subjects.

CA CPT Exam Fees

Candidate needs to register online or by post. The application fees has to be paid online. For candidates opting for centre in India, application fees is INR 1000, candidates who opt for centres in Kathmandu, application fees is INR 1700 and candidates who opt for Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat or Dubai as centre, application fees if $300.
