Read the Job Description

Do not send a generic resume to all the jobs you apply for. A tailor-made resume for every job
would take some extra effort, but it will be worth it.  When you read the job profile, you’ll find some keywords. Do not ignore them.
For example: for an airline vacancy, the job description may include eligibility which goes like: “Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team, passionate about guest service.”
The recruiter is telling you directly what are they looking for in the candidate. And you have to tell them, that you have these capabilities which make you the perfect candidate. So, make sure to include these keywords in your resume. You can add these keywords in your skills or strength section. But do not copy the exact wording. Pick keywords and incorporate them in your resume.

Know your Skills and Strength

These two sections are very important in a resume. Include the skills and strengths which align with the job role you are applying for.
For example: if you are applying for sales Executive, your communication skills, negotiating ability, networking skills align with it.
If you are applying for a teacher’s post, then your patience, empathy, communication skills, and adaptability are the skills that make you the right fit for the job. Make a list of the skills you possess and then see which are being demanded by the kind of job you are applying for. You have to be honest here, but also do not underestimate yourself.

Download Templates

You’ll easily find resume templates online so you can edit them. So you need not worry about the formatting. Microsoft Word and Google docs offer resume templates. You can also get resume templates online on websites like Overleaf and Novoresume.
Choose a template that best suits your interest.

Fill Up Templates

After selecting the template you need to edit it and fill in your personal details and achievements. Do not exceed one page for a resume unless you are applying for a very high-profile job. As fresher, you need not exceed one page. Do not include all your achievements. Add only the relevant and recent ones. Include your name and contact. You also add a link to your LinkedIn profile. Include your education, achievements, skills, internships in a similar job, strengths, hobbies, etc.

Quantify Achievements

While mentioning the experience add what was your contribution to the organization during your tenure. Try expressing it with a numeric figure.
For example: instead of just writing that you worked as a sales executive, also mention that you increased the sales revenue of the organization by 15%. Numerical data will make you a more reliable candidate.
